PTECH interest high among Timberline 8th Graders

Timberline Pk-8 Won A 2015-16 ICAP Award!

Timberline Pk-8 has been selected as an ICAP Award winner for our excellent School ICAP Team.

 

The other award winners include: Center Consolidated School District for their District ICAP Leadership; Adams 12 Five Star Schools for their District ICAP Team; and shared with St Vrain Valley School District and Timberline Pk-8 is the Poudre School District, Poudre School District and Poudre High school for their School ICAP Teams.

 

Family Engineering Night

Timberline PK8 had a fabulous Family Engineering Night. Students were able to show their parents how they are engineers by working with them on some engineering stations. The families received a passport and were able to participate in 8 different stations. They learned about communication through lego building, roller coasters, how different materials make many sounds, creating the longest diving board with dominoes, how nature insipired our technolgoy, how stong are towers, learning about engineering jobs and building arches.

STEM Summer School a Huge Success

Math and science content were a major focus for this year's summer school sessions at Timberline PK-8.  The content was taught through literacy instruction, technology integration, and the design process.

SVVSD implements new math curriculum; digits

The digits platform was the top choice for both academic rigor and versatility for teachers and students and was designed to act as a fully digital math program.

Party with the Robots

Robots were the buzz at the VEX IQ Robotics Competition Saturday January 24, 2015.

Computer Programming Week a Huge Success at Timberline

"Coding is awesome!" was shouted by a group of 6th graders on their way from math class to lunch. Students all across the building agreed. Many students even earned their "Hour of Code" certificate from code.org. One of the highlights of the week was when 8th graders partnered with kindergarteners to introduce them to simple coding programs, including Daisy the Dinosaur and Lightbot.
