PIE: Parents Involved in Education
The 2nd PIE Session of the semester is happening on Tuesday, September 23rd, from 5:15–7:30 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Elementary.
Dinner is from 5:15–6:00 p.m., followed by engaging sessions for both parents and children from 6:00–7:30 p.m. The parent session will be led by Carmen Ramirez and Sheyba Barahona, and it will be focused on “Family Emergency Preparedness.” We’re excited to welcome Longmont Fire, who will be sharing an interactive fire safety presentation with the kids.

Attendance Awareness Month

Ensure that your student attends school regularly, striving for ten or fewer absences. We realize that some absences are unavoidable due to health problems or other concerns. By planning ahead to minimize avoidable absences, students are more likely to have regular attendance in spite of occasional illness.
A whole year has 365 days.
A school year has only 174 days.
That leaves 191 days to spend on family time, holidays, vacations, and appointments.
We strongly encourage vacations to be planned for times when school is not in session. The St Vrain Valley School District has explicit policies for unexcused absences and tardies. The full policy can be found on the SVVSD Attendance and Engagement website.
